Cake Smashing

A cake smashing photoshoot is a fun and creative way to celebrate a special milestone of your little one. In the last few years this sort of photoshoot has been extremely popular with parents wanting to capture their little one's birthday in a fun and memorable way.

The session itself is tailored to your little one, also acting as a fun sensory activity, coming together to create some wonderful memories as your little one squashes the cake with their hands.

The backdrop of the shots will be unique to your little one, and we can discuss any specific colours or style that you are particularly fond of beforehand.

I tend to carry out the photoshoots in your own home as this is where the little one feel most comfortable, in their own surrounding. It does also mean that if they need a change or a feed, then this can be done with ease.

What to expect

The photoshoot will last about 1-2 hours. Cake and props will be provided. Any dietary requirements I need to know about will be discussed prior to the photoshoot.

The child will get very messy, but this is the fun of this style of shoot. The messier the better and hopefully the child will have lots of laughter whilst enjoying the cake.

Don't worry if the child doesn't want to partake in destroying the cake, we can work around there needs. It is a very chilled photoshoot and we will aim to get some lovely high quality photos no matter what challenges we may face.

I will bring a backdrop, some lights and other props to help set up the image so please don't worry about making the house look tidy.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to supply the cake?

A cake will be supplied and in the cost of the package chosen. If you have a more sophisticated style of cake in mind, the overall package cost may vary.

What if my child has an allergy or dietary requirements?
If your child does have any dietary requirements, it would be good to know in advance. We can then ensure the cake fits the needs of the child.

Will I need to pack spare clothes?
I would always suggest that you have a spare set of clothes for after as the little one can get very messy. The best photos are the ones where food goes everywhere. I will however bring along a suitable covering to protect any furniture or flooring.
